Reshaping the New Benchmark for
Power Supplies
SINE MC40
Aluminium Alloy Dual Magnetic
Conduit Power Conditioner
Power is the foundation of an audio system, yet it is the most easily overlooked element. Many enthusiasts only realize its importance in the later stages of their journey, but it’s never too late. SINE is a Hong Kong brand specializing in high-end audio-grade power products and accessories. With a deep understanding of audio systems, it delivers highly effective and reasonably priced solutions.
The SINE MC40 is their latest power conditioner. Through magnetic conduit purification, natural mineral vibration damping, and power compensation circuits, it achieves exceptionally pure and quiet sound performance.
Although the MC40 is the newest model, it is not the brand’s flagship. Its technology is largely inherited from the larger S-60A. The S-60A offers greater continuous and instantaneous power handling, while the MC40 is better suited for medium-sized audio systems. The true flagship is the Gateway 3 power conditioner, which employs even more layers of purification technology.
The MC40’s exterior and structural design balance aesthetics and functionality. The high-rigidity chassis features a 10mm thick aluminum alloy front panel paired with a reinforced steel base plate, giving the unit a solid weight of 10kg. This effectively blocks external RFI interference and mechanical vibrations. All conductive parts inside, including the 13 AWG single-strand copper internal wiring and high-quality outlets, undergo -196°C cryogenic treatment to optimize the metal crystal structure.
The MC40 is a medium-sized power conditioner. Its 8 outlets are divided into three categories: Digital, Analog, and High Current. The internal design is slightly optimized differently for each type to suit the characteristics of the connected equipment. Users simply need to connect the corresponding devices to the appropriate outlet groups. For placement, the factory default orientation has the outlets facing rearward or forward. However, the manufacturer specifically notes that the unit can also be positioned with outlets facing upward for greater convenience. To enable this, they made the front aluminum alloy panel completely flat, allowing the unit to sit stably in any orientation. When the rear master power switch is turned on, the front panel indicator light illuminates, so users do not have to worry about whether the unit is operating normally.

Core Technology: Dual Magnetic Conduit
The standout feature of the MC40 is SINE’s proprietary Dual Magnetic Conduit technology. It employs specially upgraded 40A aluminum alloy magnetic conduits to filter out noise and pollution from the power supply.Balanced Circuit Design: Power is first filtered on the live (positive) line, then undergoes secondary processing on the neutral return path, resulting in thoroughly cleaned output power. One output group is upgraded to High Current output. After dual magnetic conduit processing, it provides a quieter background for high-current-demand equipment such as power amplifiers and subwoofers. It supports both UK (British standard) and US-style outlets, all equipped with 20A cryogenic power switches. Outlets are premium gold-plated (or platinum-plated) and cryogenically treated to enhance dynamics and resolution.
The manufacturer also supplied their own SINE NIDAS HC+ power cord for us to test in combination with the MC40. This cable is specifically designed for high-power audio equipment. The entire cable has undergone SINE’s proprietary -196°C cryogenic treatment. It uses 10AWG conductors with a cross-sectional area of 5.26mm², capable of handling up to 30A of current (300V).
Superior Flexibility in Detail and Emotional Expression
For this listening session, I turned to Eva Cassidy’s Live At Blues Alley. After inserting the SINE MC40 power conditioner, the sound immediately gained remarkable agility and fluidity. Both the vocals and instrumental performances stood out with vivid, lifelike detail that seemed to leap out of the soundstage. The three-dimensional presence was strikingly realistic — almost tangible. Eva’s singing was rich with emotion and nuance; every subtle articulation, every dynamic inflection, and every surge or gentle release in her phrasing flowed naturally and expressively, delivered with breathtaking freedom and passion. The SINE MC40 brings added richness, body, and substantial weight to the mid-bass region, which greatly benefits emotional expression and warmth. At the same time, the mid-to-high frequencies exhibit enhanced transparency and beautiful extension. The overall frequency balance feels more complete and natural, with excellent coherence across the entire spectrum. The soundstage becomes wider, more enveloping, and better balanced in every dimension.
